The rivet sleeve is the joint-forming element of a riveted joint. It is formed by the rivet mandrel and remains non-detachable in the component. The sleeve design is selected according to the expected mechanical stresses, the corrosion requirements, the design of the components, the temperature stress and very often also the appearance.
When it comes to appearance, manufacturers and users of rivet sleeves rely on the experience and technical capabilities of job-coater ROTOVER from Wuppertal. ROTOVER paints rivet sleeves in a drum painting process with specially developed, high-strength and elastic paint systems. The liquid lacquers are applied in finely atomized form to the surface of the rivet sleeves moving in the coating drum. The highlight of the process is the uniform and complete coating of the components without any adhesion or damage. The rivet shank also remains freely accessible despite the complete coating.
The coating thickness is only a few micrometers, so that there are no restrictions during assembly or in the tools. Despite the thin dry film thickness, the paint adhesion is so strong that the setting head remains undamaged afterwards.
Rotover paints rivet sleeves or blind rivets made of aluminum and stainless steel. Steel or galvanized metals can also be painted, depending on requirements. Related fasteners such as hollow rivets, semi-tubular rivets, solid rivets, blind rivet nuts, bushings and bolts are also painted by Rotover.
