Pretreatment

Paint adhesion is only as good as the substrate has been pre-treated.
We at ROTOVER are happy to recommend appropriate pretreatment of your components.

The raw parts must always be prepared for subsequent painting in a manner suitable for finishing (free of oils, silicone and fluorine-containing release agents, greases, rust and dust).

Your raw parts must also not contain any flow aids or additives.
Plastic components must also be free of scratches. All corners and edges must be free of burrs in order to achieve optimum painting results.

Appropriate pretreatment can also have a positive effect on mechanical and chemical stresses. It can make the painted components more resistant and, for example, more elastic. Corrosion protection requirements can also be improved by suitable pretreatments, depending on the application.

At ROTOVER, we can also carry out various pre-treatments for your components on request. These include degreasing in appropriate cleaning media, cleaning or even blasting with various abrasives.

Similar to the aforementioned pretreatment options, ROTOVER also pretreats components with special primers for subsequent top coats.

We use special adhesion primers for metals and plastics to improve the intermediate adhesion between the substrate and the top coat.

Substrates are precoated with special corrosion protection primers to achieve higher salt spray resistance.

Another application is the pre-priming with certain color shades in order to positively influence the optical effect, the color intensity or the layer thickness.

As a rule, we do it very colorful. And in a wide variety of colors.
Our main service is the painting of mass-produced small parts for decorative, i.e. coloring purposes.

For this purpose, we mainly use the special coating systems of our sister company HUELSEMANN Lacke. The EPITAL, ACEDUR, KACELIT and ILEXAL coatings developed there are based on different binder bases and designed for different properties.

Farbenvielfalt

Sometimes it has to be a little more. Or rather a good deal longer.
Because whenever the corrosion resistance requirements of a component are demanded according to certain e.g. automotive specifications, the zinc flake systems are used.

As a competence center of Atotech, we use the proven black or silver base coats, as well as the coordinated organic or inorganic top coats. The product name Zintek® stands for a range of zinc flake systems that offer excellent corrosion protection (white and red rust), outstanding covering properties as well as strong adhesion combined with high impact resistance - even after prolonged use.

The zinc flake systems are applied by the dip-spin method or in spray drums.

Non-ferrous metals such as brass or copper oxidize in the course of time in the air and thus become quite unsightly. Other metals react with surrounding influences, such as salts or acids.

ROTOVER therefore offers different protective coating systems, transparent or pigmented. By zapping, non-ferrous metals are protected from tarnishing or used as temporary corrosion protection.

Two-component clearcoat systems are also much more resistant to chemical influences.

In addition, the protective coating systems can increase gloss levels or improve abrasion resistance as an upper protective layer.

At ROTOVER, functional coatings also include Anti-Friction-Coatings.

We use bonded coatings of different chemistry and from different manufacturers.
In addition to PTFE bonded coatings of the EPITAL brand, various Molykote products are used. Other bonded coatings include Resilon and Xylan products from Whitford, various Gleitmo bonded coatings from Fuchs Lubritech and many other well-known and proven products from other manufacturers.

The air- or thermosetting bonded coatings reduce friction coefficients and reduce squeaking and creaking noises.

The bonded coating systems are applied by the exchange-spin method or in spray drums. Depending on the type, they are also available in different color shades.
