The coating of metals with (nitro) clear coats is called zaponizing. Zapon lacquer is a colorless, non-yellowing protective coating for all bare ferrous and non-ferrous metals, i.e. also for copper, brass or aluminum. Galvanically treated metals are often protected by zaponizing for further use.
