ROTOVER Lackiertechnik has recently started to offer an extensive new range of electroplating colors.
Hereby, different metals or plastics can be refined with effective lacquers in the barrel finishing process.
In contrast to the coating in the electroplating technique, ROTOVER uses special paint systems which optically resemble an electroplated metal coating. This is done in the so-called spray drum process, in which small parts are rationally painted as bulk material.
The paint film is a mechanically and chemically resistant polymeric coating that is usually applied directly to the substrate. The paint film is then often more abrasion-resistant and durable than an electroplated surface. In addition, depending on the substrate, significantly higher corrosion resistance can be achieved.
Other advantages of an electroplated coating include the uniformity and reproducibility of the color tone. Whereas in barrel plating, the chemical composition of the baths, the current intensity and the dwell time in the plating bath have such a strong influence on the final result and unevenness is often the undesirable consequence, at ROTOVER the small parts are always painted uniformly and without deviations from the original color. Upstream and downstream processes in electroplating, such as dipping in electrolytic baths, rinsing or polishing, are completely eliminated during painting. This also protects the environment.
Unlimited color selection. Here, too, ROTOVER has the advantage. With the support of partners from the paint industry, various electroplating colors can be created according to a template or customer requirements and then applied. Even the slightest nuances of lighter or darker, yellow or blue, red or green, etc. are possible with the special paints at ROTOVER.
