The drum coating of small parts is always an option when bulk small parts have to be painted and coated efficiently but nevertheless in a sophisticated manner.
Rotover Lackiertechnik GmbH from Wuppertal has been successfully carrying out drum coating contract work for over 20 years. Small parts made of metal, plastic or glass are efficiently coated in modern automatic painting machines. In the process, the Rotover company paints a wide variety of customer items on a daily basis, from the smallest technical springs < 5mm to large screw bits up to 150mm in length.
The possibilities of the Rotover company are very diverse. For the most part, small parts are painted with color-giving lacquers for decorative purposes. Eyelets, rivets or serrated rings receive an attractive, uniform color lacquering. In addition to the color coating, however, the paint adhesion and strength of the paint coating are not inferior. This is achieved by special drum lacquers from leading German manufacturers and by experience in the use of the special hot drum lacquering process.
A growing field of application is the painting of plastics in the tommel. Various small parts made of different plastics are coated with effective varnishes in a single layer, resulting in brilliant and uniform surfaces.
Functional coatings are also achieved with the coating process practiced at Rotover. Small parts are coated with special anti-friction coatings, e.g. to achieve permanent lubrication. PFTE lacquers or anti-friction coatings are applied all around the parts by the fine spray mist. Other applications are protective coatings for metals against corrosion and oxidation.
The drum painting process is the most suitable painting process to efficiently paint mass small parts. Alternatively, small parts are spray painted, but at much higher unit labor costs.
In drum coating, the small parts are coated in special coating systems as bulk material in a batch process. Using internal wide or round jet guns, the paint is sprayed in fine doses over the rotating parts. Due to the permanent mixing, all parts receive the same amount of paint and are coated evenly from all sides. The highlight: At the end of this coating process, the parts are usually cured and ready for packaging.
Whether your small parts are also suitable for our drum coating process is something we would be happy to clarify with you in a dialog, to which we cordially invite you. Ask for our expertise in coating application and development.
